Sewing was always something, I did alone in my sewing room. Spending time just for myself, surrounded by beautiful and inspiring stuff, doing something that`s exciting and relaxing at the same time. I do not speak about my hobby that much. Even closer friends do maybe know that I like to sew, but do not notice the handmade clothes and I`ve probably never mentioned my blog. With the Paris sew social meeting back in April this habit changed. I found like-minded people who share my passion. And i actually love to talk about fabric, patterns, clothes, scissors, sewing machines and big dreams.
I sometimes writes e-mails in the middle of the night, just to say hello to someone living miles away. Knowing the one will be still awake as well. Friends that I found through my blog. That`s amazing!
Today I`ll share two Louisa dresses by Compagnie M, I received the pattern as a sponsoring for Paris sew social. Marte, who`s the designer of this beautiful little A-line dress named Louisa (you surely all know it by heart), even hosted my family for a few days at her home. We got friends during the weekend in Paris. I never thought of things like that could happen, when I started this little blog. We had the best time!
The one with the red dots, is made from a Nani Iro, I`ve choosen at Atelier Brunette in Paris. This fabric was kindly sponsored by Bernina. The only change I made to the pattern was adding tulip sleeves instead of the regular ones.
The second one is made with a little piece of fabric I had in my stash for a long time (bought at Miss Matatabi). I was inspired by this Louisa from Marte. I added the cap-sleeves of the Lotta dress.
Today we`ll give a big thank you to all our sponsors, everybody sewed something with a Pattern or a fabric received in Paris. Check out all the other creations. There is a giveaway on every single blog!

What lovely dresses, but the combination of colours, fabrics and that glimpse of yellow at the neckline and on the sleeves has to make the blue dress my favourite version of the dress I’ve ever seen.

Of course I do! 🙂 You’re so inspiring!!!! I just ordered two fabrics that I really loved a lot when I first saw them though you: the little drops on the mustard fabric and the art gallery flower fabric you bought from Wendy when you were here. We should make something in the same timeframe with that 2nd one, don’t you think? 😉
oh yes that’s a great idea! did you allready think about a pattern?
Oh I’d love to win this pattern- I’ve being eyeing up the Louisa dress for quite some time now! I love your polka dot version (I’ve had a thing for polka dots ever since I wrote a blogpost on their history: https://dobbinsbobbins.wordpress.com/2015/05/28/throwback-thursday-polka-dots/) and I particularly like the way you’ve added buttons to the pocket! 😃

the african kanga fabric sounds interessting! i can totally imagine that! let me see it if you sew it once!
I’d like to win! ;p. Nicely chosen fabrics, those Louisa dresses look great. My favorite is the second one with the striped clouds. Looks like a lovely pattern.
thank you kira. it really is a lovely pattern.
I would LOVE to win this pattern and give Marte’s patterns a try in general. I’ve heard such great praise for them and see so many wonderful projects made from them the Louisa is my favorite!

I would love to win! Your fabric choices are amazing. I wish I had your talent!
I totally recognise myself in your story. Sewing is a real passion for me too but only my husband and my mother know about it. I recently found one like-minded friend and it’s so lovely to be able to talk to someone who understands why i do this. Your Louisa’s are stunning. I’ve been wanting to by the pattern but haven’t gotten around to it. So many great patterns and fabrics ;-). So i gladly take part in the give-away.
i’m happy that you found someone you can share your passion with!
These dresses are gorgeous. I am quite partial to the little polka dot one.
So cute- especially those polka dots!
Lovely dresses! I love the fact that they are very different, but still use the same pattern and how you incorporated something of yourself and made them unique.

What a lovely dress, I would sew it despite having no children (yet). Beautiful job!
Those two dresses are so beautiful! Very well done! (and don’t count me in for the giveaway; I already have this pattern)

This is such an absolutely adorable little dress! Would love to win! Thanks for the chance!
When I first saw this competition your polka dot dress was the first item I so wanted to make for my little one. It caught my eye straight away but now after opening up your display the blue sleeve detail and piping look gorgeous too. I’m still perfecting my skills but what a lovely treat for sore late eyes. Thank you
I like the red dot dress! It is so lovely, and it would be nice to win a pattern.
I would love to win this!
I’ve loved these patterns and now I have a 12week old little girl I’d love to make her one. Your versions are stunning, great inspiration on your fabric choices.
I’m truly, madly, deeply in love with the second Louisa dress ❤
Great versions of Louisa, which is also one of my favorite pattern (I find it suits our little girls so perfect and that pocket is just the best for all mini treasures). Love the Nani Iro with tulip sleeves, it’s gorgeous (but I’m somehow addicted to red dots…)
yes it’s one of my favorites as well. and the best thing is that she loves to wear them.
