With my post baby bump, I just don`t feel like sewing for myself. It doesn`t make a lot of sense, as I hope to lose quite a few kilo`s in the next months. That`s maybe the reason for all the unselfish sewing i`m up to lately. Actually, those sweaters were sewn around christmas time…? I just never came around, to wrap them up to a proper post. Before summer arrives and it `s definitly too late for this post. Here it is.

My Husband is tall and has a slim figure. RTW shirts are either to short or to baggy on him. That`s why sewing for him is so satisfying, you just get the right fit. I decided, to start sewing him a fine wardrobe. Step by step. Thread Theory`s Pattern are a good starting point. They offer a great range of menswear sewing patterns.

This is the Finlayson Sweater. A real staple garment, comfy like a hoodie but with a bit more style, maybe more grown up. The paper pattern is very beautifully wrapped and the design inside is an eye catcher! Instructions are simple and straight forward as I like it. If you need more help, there is a sew along. Well done Thread Theory! I sewed him a size S, lengthened the bodice about 9cm and the sleeves about 6 cm. You see, skinny but tall. The fit is spot on. He made me the best compliment and asked for a second one.

Fabrics are from local shops and were chosen by him. He likes structured blue. I guess i`ll use this pattern over and over again. it`s easy to hack and make him different styled sweaters with a great fit.

And because I was on a run… i sewed him an other one. The pattern is from the german DIY magazine CUT. It`s the `Starschnitt`by Hien Le.

Tom sweater was in the latest issue (01/16). I love the clean but interesting lines of this pattern. It`s easy to sew and a fast make, with the little extra to make it special. It`s a size S again but with a few cm more length. I measured the Finlayson to get it right.

The Fairfield Button-up Shirt and the Jedediah Pants by Thread Theory will be the next things i`m gonna sew for him. Stay tuned for more male sewing.
