La petite robe noire

I`m so nervous! Tomorrow I`ll be on the way to Paris. What`s special about that you may ask. A few moths ago I got a mail in my inbox from Annika of Näh-connection, asking me if I want to join a few amazing bloggers for a weekend in Paris. How exciting is that (and I still ask myself why i got this invitation!).

This weekend i`ll not be able to hide myself behinde a screen. I was in need of a dress that is comfortable yet stylish. I sewed a Inari Dress by Named Pattern. I really love this dress! If you like to go out in 2 hours and wanna wear a new dress, it`s for you! It`s an easy sew and the result is stunning!

A close up of the fabric. It`s a traditionally woven yarn dyed fabric from Japan. I bought at Mondaysmilk. Soft and beautiful.

This meeting is just possible because a few lady’s made an incredible job and spent a lot of time organizing everything. I`m so thankful that I can be part of it. Especially if you look at the line up.

Mint Bonbon

Spring is in the air. After three warm and sunny days, it feels like he finally arrives. My girl wore her winter-coat everyday the whole cold season, it was time, to sew a new one for the cheery days to come. I had a little ball-shaped jacket in mind. I thought about drafting myself, but then I stumbled over this older Burda Pattern (Burdastyle 09/2012), that was just what I imagined. The smallest size they provide for this coat was 98, my girl has a size 80. I downsized the whole pattern to her measurements. A lot of work, but so worth it! It fits like a charm.

The fabric is a lightweight wool mix I found locally. Perfect for a spring jacket. Lining fabric is from Micheal Miller

Sewing a coat is always a more time-consuming project for me. But it reminds me why I love to sew. In the end i`m there with a very unique piece, that is just perfect for her.

Made with love.

I searched like forever for the perfect buttons. I just couldn`t find one in the right shade of mint. In the end I had to cover them by my own. I should have done so from the beginning.

She seems to like her new jacket. She already started to hide all kind of funny stuff inside the pockets. How fast little kids grow!

She`s the One

Nella_002

She`s the one, who fits into my pants. May I introduce, that`s my mom. She`s wearing a pair of Hudson Pants sewn by me. Well, actually I made them for myself. I used a woven fabric. I up-sized one size as I did in my first version, sewed them together without any bad thoughts.. and when I finished and tried them on… they were too small. I don`t know what went wrong, maybe it was the fever that I suffered from while sewing. Happily, I made them exactly in mom`s size.

They suit her very well, if you ask me. I made a cropped version. I heard showing the ankles is fashionable at the moment. No, it`s just a nice length, for a lightweight summer trousers, like this one. Don`t you think?

By the way, my mom is a very passionate knitter. She always makes very gorgeous stuff. I`m so impressed by her patience.

The sweetest little cat-hat is made by her, see a better pic on my Instagram.
